If it’s our task to “Govern our own” then I say non contributing members should stop posting confusing, irrelevant, or unhelpful (in)valid “clues.”
A cure to a white blindness epidemic isn’t found by suffering fools well.

Agreed!

I Concure, How do you suppose we govern?

Thank you, myopic. This will be addressed immediately. Standby for clearance.

Avatar myopic 100 post(s)

Without any tools to govern, it’s hard to govern.

I’m simply ignoring misinformation and pretty much sticking with people who have established that they have the ability to link together clues better than making absurdist “jokes” or repetitive posts.

however (directed to the moderator) I would gladly support some sort of collaborative vote off of a number of jokers presently wasting text on this board.

Avatar myopic 100 post(s)

I mostly mean spammers or those who think it’s funny to post threats on this forum.. Or those who have claimed to receive foodstuff in their envelopes…
I don’t think a cure has anything to do with goldfish crackers, do you?

Avatar rjp 15 post(s)

Lol. Deleted my old post, sorry.
Wasn’t aware of posts like that, my only experience with such was the person who kept posting that he could see.
I agree, some quality control is needed.

Avatar jason m dockins 29 post(s)

We need to make sure we do not become tyranical.

With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility …

Avatar myopic 100 post(s)

I’m all for newcomers, we were told new people would arrive and it seems packages were mailed out to some who didn’t know what was going on here, that’s fine… that’s really the point, but it’s quality control as you said. It’s especially difficult in a situation where clues might be anywhere… but I think some stuff is just posting for shits and giggles. I’m pretty sure these sort of antics kept me from navigating this forum for about 20 minutes, and I think that’s unacceptable.

I think we are getting enough new traffic that it might be a good idea to start a welcome thread for new members and to help orient them. I believe we can ‘sticky’ new threads as well.
EDIT: Can’t seem to sticky in Heard, but we can in Sounds…

Avatar myopic 100 post(s)

Let me see Cousinsteve…

you licked your glasses…. then you claimed you received an e-mail from No Oprah…. without any meaningful explanation behind that…

and now your claiming (without photographs) that you have both a goldfish cracker in your package and a cross/swastika (you can’t seem to tell the difference, or maybe it was both) on your envelope.

if you want to join in on another place we’re discussing this, your welcome to sign up and join here:

I’m not trying to antagonize you, but you have to realize how out of character your package sounds considering the party mailing.

I will answer any question about the box you want. I have it right here. The emails could have been jokes from friends if it isn’t the I AM BLIND folks.
Use a magnifying glass on the Statue of Liberty stamp on the SASE…there is CLEARLY a cross (upper part) AND a swastika (lower part) in the design under the .42 cent mark. The stamp on mine is from stamps.com.
I figure if someone puts a cross and a swastika hidden in a design it probably means something. I mentioned Mengele because he experimented on peoples eyes in World War 2.
I’m at work and don’t have a digital camera here.
Ask me ANY question about the box and I will answer it. and what do you mean by ‘considering the party mailing’?

I agree with myopic, that we do need some system of regulating useres and posts. However, we have experienced a flood of new users lately, especially because of the unexpected packages. Some of these people may not be familiar with online community etiquite, and we need to be understanding of that.

Avatar saki 72 post(s)

Myopic means that because yours was different from the first few that were received.

Avatar jason m dockins 29 post(s)

Mypmic, have you recieved any sort of clearence yet?

Avatar mrtoasty 18 post(s)

steve – that’s just the 2D barcode associated with the custom printed stamp. Random chance if it looks like anything.

Avatar myopic 100 post(s)

i just mean that because of the nature of what this is, it doesn’t seem smart to put a swastika on anything (unless it’s a clue)

but yeah, I do think that means something… you say it was hidden.. was it put on there by a marker or something of the same color over the dark picture area or is it in the white section of the stamp?

I think looking into the WWII idea is smart… I’ll try and look up some info on WWII experimentation.

again, wasn’t trying to be a dick before, it just felt like with the flood of new users that maybe some online community decided to raid these forums for fun, but it seems now it’s because a lot of people got mailing who didn’t get involved with this beforehand.

@jason, not that i know of… maybe I should be expecting a call? no e-mail, no change. Only change since seems to be a new forum titled “sounds”

Avatar cousinsteve 14 post(s)

Mrtoasty—-the cross is too perfect for it to be random. Swastika? Possible.

Avatar boomer52 67 post(s)

Speaking of governing posts, what’s with the user ‘demonwing’? Do we think he is IG or just some douche?

Avatar saki 72 post(s)

Dunno…Mod didn’t delete his posts, but on the other hand that was the last we heard of him so far.

Avatar lairosiel 53 post(s)

some douche, except of his I can see posts, there’s is nothing left..

Avatar texripley 9 post(s)

If, as Toasty says, you are talking about the 2D, then it is totaly random. Given that it’s made up of square blocks, some patterns will emerge. I mean even Mike Huckabee’s bookshelves made that mistake :p The barcode on the print-your-own-stamp type is regulated by the US postal and the barcode conveys information about when the stamp was created, and the serial number of your software program, etc.. if you are suggesting that they have been tampered with, I don’t think they would risk a 5yr stretch.
Tex…
